They offer 1 super cheap plan that fits 99% of the shared hosting needs (and even comparable to some vps services). They get you SSH, SSL, DoS protection, protected network, redundant connectivity and *real* 99,9% uptime. For just 6.95$.
The Secure POP3 connection is great. Just as much as gmail you can check your email even on untrusted networks using your own mail client. With .htaccess you can easily protect your folder/files. With embedded SpamAssassin you are guaranted a good level of spam protection. Scheduled backups are allowed and even Customized Apache Server!
I'm not aware of any successful hacking attack on their server.
LogFile inspection is a great feature, not always available in shared hosting. Very useful for attack prevention or post-attack forensics. Overall reviews on the net are top level. So I'd really recommend them. More details on BlueHost plan
